All:
I would like to update everyone on the status of our new Community Room/Department of Public Safety Facility. Due to the milder than normal winter the project is ahead of schedule resulting in anticipated completion by late April. We are planning an Open House and Dedication ceremony along with tours of the facility ASAP once completed. We anticipate our Community Room will seat approximately 130 for a meal and more if just for meetings. Our community has needed such a facility like this for a long time and may be used for a variety of events. We are forming committees now to work out details for use of this facility. The city council over the past several years purchased the American Legion Building and grounds along with the Bruce property for a long range plan for such a facility. We were able to secure a $2,000,000 grant which made this project feasible now. Another goal of the city council was not to infringe upon on any existing city park property, which we did not, even though it might appear so due to the proximity to the parking lot of the new facility.
I will keep all informed as we move closer to completion.
Respectively,
